I love May and early June when flowers in my garden start to bloom. Each variety blooms for a only a short time, so I rush to paint before they fade away. I'm getting ready to paint some of the flowers I picked.
I saw these beautiful flowers at Wilson Farm. They are anemones and can easily be mistaken for poppies —very vibrant and colorful. I found that a lot of flowers I painted tended to be light pink, which tended to look dull. I am always on a search for flowers that come in more bold and saturated colors. I did 18x24 acrylic painting. Here are the results:
